Roy Rosario Pistone, Sr., 76, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sun., June 11, 2017 at his home, surrounded by loving family members. A native of Brooklyn, NY he was born Nov. 30, 1940 to Joseph and Frances (Catanzaro) Pistone, one of five children. Roy served his country honorably and proudly on active duty from 1963 to 1965 in the United States Army as First Lieutenant and commanded an infantry unit in the 1st Cavalry Division while serving in Korea. He then served three more years in the U.S. Army Reserves, mustering out in 1968....

Roy Rosario Pistone, Sr., 76, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sun., June 11, 2017 at his home, surrounded by loving family members. A native of Brooklyn, NY he was born Nov. 30, 1940 to Joseph and Frances (Catanzaro) Pistone, one of five children. Roy served his country honorably and proudly on active duty from 1963 to 1965 in the United States Army as First Lieutenant and commanded an infantry unit in the 1st Cavalry Division while serving in Korea. He then served three more years in the U.S. Army Reserves, mustering out in 1968. Roy earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Dayton of Dayton ,Ohio and was a retired general manager for Impala Electronics Corp., Tampa, FL. He also was a former general manager for Toys R Us and moved to Homosassa in 1982 from Tampa. Roy was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 15154, attached to St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, of which he was a faithful and devoted parishioner. Mr. Pistone is survived by his beloved wife of over 34 years, Susan D. Pistone; his children Maria Trunzo (husband Pete), Roy Pistone, Jr., Richard Pistone, Maj., USAF, Ret (wife Tammy); Kelly Lolly, aka "Kelly Girl" (husband Michael) and John Garcia (wife Jennifer); brothers Jerry and Joseph Pistone and sister Phyllis Pistone; grandchildren Nikki Pistone, Sami Pistone, Christina Trunzo, Jenna Pistone, Anthony Trunzo, Dominick and Katlin Pistone, Gabriella Garcia, Samantha Susan Lolly, aka "Peanut" and Giavanna Garcia and great grandchildren Jayden Pistone, Tori Rossmann and Lonnie Clausi. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Marie Pistone. Friends will be received on Wed,. June 14, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thurs., June 15, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. from St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa, FL with Frs. Ronald Marecki and Gregory Andrews, Co-Celebrants. Military honors will be rendered following the mass at 12:30 P.M.at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. www.wilderfuneral.com
